PADI assistant Instructor #194809

I began my diving career at the ripe young age of 40 and obtained my Open Water Certification in 2001. So if someone says you’re too old, that’s a line of, well you get the idea.  I continued my diving education and obtained my Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver, among other various certifications.  An instructor, who was very special to me, Tom Herrell, fondly known as “Harry”, invited me to become part of the MDS staff by encouraging me to become a Dive Master.  After a few years, with continued encouragement of the MDS staff, I then furthered my dive education and became an Assistant Instructor.

I love helping students.  I love watching their faces light up when they learn something new and finally “get it”.  I think back to how exciting diving was for me as a new diver and I hope that I offer that same type of opportunity to others, no matter their age or certification level.

I love this group….
